Feel Good Friday: Jump Start Your Day By Waking Up Earlier

If you are not a morning person, waking up can be quite difficult. Thankfully we have some simple tips to make your mornings go a little more smoothly.


 

  1. Hitting the snooze button might seem like a good idea at the time, but you are actually doing your body more harm than good. Continually hitting the snooze button doesn’t allow your body to get any additional REM sleep. In fact, all it really does it simply waste time! Try placing your alarm clock across the room. This will force you to actually get out of bed to turn it off.

 

  1. Another helpful tip to make mornings less painful is preparing the night before. Set out your work and exercise clothes the previous night. Also, have your coffee ready to go so that you can move through your morning routine with minimal thinking.

 

  1. Use this extra time in the morning to get your exercise in for the day. Take your dog on a walk, go for a run, or hit the gym. Getting up thirty minutes earlier will be a struggle at first, but once you get into the routine, it will become second nature!
