National Breast Cancer Awareness Month

I am sure that most of you readers know that October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. However, you may not know that promoting Breast Cancer Awareness and supporting breast cancer victims is happening across the globe. One of the most amazing and unique mechanisms of promoting breast cancer awareness this month has occurred in Iceland.    Last week, the Icelandic Cancer Society and Brandenburg ad agency teamed up to paint a highway loop in Reykjavik bright pink! The highway is shaped like a ribbon, making it the perfect place to promote awareness on a large scale. Iceland has an alarmingly high breast cancer rate globally so awareness is very important. The Huffington Post provides an article about the event with a great video showing the painting process and an aerial view of the loop.

Here is the link to the article and video for more information; http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/10/10/pink-ribbon-highway-breast-cancer-iceland_n_4078360.html.

Also, if you have any questions about what you should know or do for the rest of this month, the link below will take you to a very informative article which will teach you more about the fight against breast cancer and how to get involved.
