National Hispanic Heritage Month

TinkBird Healthcare Staffing celebrates National Hispanic Heritage Month! Originally recognized in 1968 as Hispanic Heritage Week and later expanded to a month long celebration in 1988, National Hispanic Heritage Month commemorates the histories, cultures and contributions of American citizens with ancestors from Mexico, Spain, the Caribbean and Central South America. According to HispanicHeritageMonth.gov, “the day of September 15 is significant because it is the anniversary of independence for Latin American countries Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua.” Additionally, Chile and Mexico’s independence days are celebrated on September 16 and September 18, respectively.

There are various month long events taking place in Washington and at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
