Wellness Wednesdays: Put the Cell Phone Down!
Do you always have your phone attached to your hip? Do you have a minor panic attack when you leave the house without it? Phones have become a part of our everyday lives. The device connects us with the world, which isn’t a bad thing but it’s important to not become completely reliant on it.
Try to “unplug” for at least an hour every day. Some benefits of doing this are listed below.
- You will be able to relax. Take the time to be present. Slowing down will also help you relax.
- You will be able to do the task at hand without being distracted. Multitasking can be necessary sometimes, but it can often result in errors. Instead of trying to check email while completing another task, set the email aside for later and focus on the present task.
- You’ll be focused on what is actually important. By putting the phone away, you can give your full attention to friends and family.
