Wellness Wednesdays: US Cities with the Most People Who Exercise

In order to gather data on American’s health habits and risks, The Center for Disease Control and Prevention partners with state health agencies and reports this data to the Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System survey program. The CDC recently released data from 2011 for almost 200 metro areas and cities across the United States. One of the metrics measured was the amount of physical activity that respondents partake in weekly.

Based on their findings, the Northeast and the West both contain exercise-heavy cities, while the interior of the country had lower exercise rates. Click here to view the map on Business Insider that illustrates the US cities with the most people who exercise.
