- Don’t visit Wilmington without taking in some beach time. The nearby beach towns of Carolina Beach, Kure Beach and Wrightsville Beach are easily accessible within a short drive from downtown Wilmington. The beaches here come in all shapes and sizes, so there’s something for everyone – from family-friendly to restful and relaxing to water sport haven.
